Rick Farrell and EcoTek Lighting Receive Green Engineering Finalist Award from TechAmerica Orange County

LAKE FOREST, CA, July 04, 2009 /California PR News/ -- Samantha Simonnet and Gregg Gallagher of TechAmerica Orange County presented Rick Farrell, president of EcoTek Lighting, with a Harvey Mudd College Green Engineering Finalist Award at EcoTek Lighting's corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, California.
Gregg Gallagher is chair of the TechAmerica Exec Connect Committee and is the group vice president for Quantum Leaders in Irvine, California. Samantha Simonnet is the Cleantech director for BridgeGate LLC in Irvine, California. The Green Engineering Finalist Award was presented to Rick Farrell and EcoTek Lighting for outstanding achievement and leadership in green manufacturing and energy efficiency.
"Indeed, according to a recent report produced by the Union of Concerned Scientists, "The Climate 2030 Blueprint", energy efficiency (or the lack thereof) is the third largest cause of GHG (Greenhouse gas) emissions in the United states behind electricity generation and transportation," said Simonnet. "And according to the DOE (Department of Energy) 2010 Congressional Budget Request, energy efficiency ranks second on the list of government priorities - behind renewable energy, but ahead of low emission transportation technology,"
