ENCINITAS, CA, March 04, 2010 /California PR News/ -- The Grauer School will present "Tolerance in the Digital Age" on March 5, 2010, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at the Grauer School located at 1500 S. El Camino Real in Encinitas. At 10:30 am, keynote speaker, Ferris Eanfar, will deliver a presentation on cyber bullying, followed by parents, students and faculty engaging in workshops, discussions and dispersing digital messages of peace and tolerance on numerous social forums. From 12:30 to 3:00 pm, the messages will be launched on various platforms to communicate The Grauer School's effort to take actions towards personal, community and global peace. Those wishing to participate may join the discussion by linking to http://toleranceday.blogspot.com.
The keynote address by Ferris Eanfar, a specialist in traditional and online social networking media, will discuss cyber bullying, digital communication and intonations. Mr. Eanfar has held positions as a crypto logical linguist and intelligence analyst for the U.S. Air Force with a Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance and was responsible for training and managing teams of analysts on how to use some of the most advanced computer network and satellite communications technologies in the world. Additionally, he has intercepted, deciphered, and translated real-time in-theater communications to determine the military capabilities and intentions of certain countries of interest. According to Art Teacher and Director of Tolerance Day, Christy Goodson, "After Mr. Eanfar's presentation, we will be asking our students a big question: Can we navigate digital space while promoting peace and tolerance? On Tolerance Day, our students and faculty will take action against digital intolerance by sharing written, visual and audio peace messages that will be posted on social forums worldwide --- our 'viral' message will have reverberations across the globe."
The annual school-wide Tolerance Day event is an integral component of the school's effort to encourage peace and tolerance of all cultures, generations, denominations and people of diverse backgrounds. The Grauer School participates in programs in the local community, nationally and globally to help broaden the education of its students who learn by discovery. The purpose of The Grauer School is to teach and encourage students to become resourceful and intrinsically motivated as learners in a compassionate, college preparatory environment.
