WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, September 09, 2011 /California PR News/ -- Children thrive when they have a caring adult in their lives. To encourage quality family time and to celebrate children for who they are, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme invites the community to the Sixth Annual "Day for Kids," 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sept. 24 at the Martin V. Smith Youth Center, 1900 West 5th Street, Oxnard. The fun-filled afternoon is free and includes entertainment and activities for children of all ages.
Families will enjoy spending time together in the bubble garden and petting zoo, watching bird shows and doing arts and crafts. There will also be jumpers, a dunk tank, clowns, face painting, a three on three basketball tournament for teens and outdoor activities including a rock wall, sumo wrestling and games. Local musicians The Grittys, 50 Sticks of Dynamite, Peace Thru Music and Voice of Hope will perform throughout the day. There will also be information booths where families can get information about services provided within the community and Boys and Girls Clubs will be providing free new memberships and kids will get a free t-shirt!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America created the annual event in 2005 to strengthen relationships between positive adults and kids by educating them on the importance of spending meaningful time together.
