Palo Alto community event moves to a new location at Rinconada Park for 2011

    PALO ALTO, CA, September 08, 2011 /California PR News/ -- Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI), the Palo Alto Art Center (PAAC), and the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation (PAACF) present the 16th Annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch (GGPP), from Tuesday, September 27 through Sunday, October 2, 2011. Celebrating its 16th anniversary, this Bay Area event and art showcase will feature 8,000 hand-blown glass pumpkins crafted by 30 prominent glass artisans. One-of-a kind glass pumpkins and unique glass objects will be on display throughout the event and on sale October 1 & 2, 2011. Proceeds from the GGPP support the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI), the Palo Alto Art Center (PAAC), and the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation (PAACF), as well as participating local artists. Due to the PAAC renovation, this year the event will be held at a new location, Rinconada Park, located at 777 Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto, CA. This family friendly event is free to the public.

Highlights
The GGPP, the original Bay Area glass pumpkin patch is the only Patch in which sales go to benefit three important arts nonprofits in the community. The Patch is also unique in that it boasts the largest selection and number of glass pumpkins in California.
This year's harvest theme will feature fresh and exciting designs that bring a touch of tradition and elegance to the fall holidays, a great addition to any collection or home. In addition to the more than 8,000 one-of-a kind designs, the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch 2011 will engage event goers with:
• Torch working demonstrations
• Artist meet and greets
• Music performances
• Gourmet food trucks

Candlelight Cocktails
The PAACF will host a "Candlelight Cocktails" reception on Friday, Sept. 30th from 6-8p.m. where special guests will get a sneak peek at the art and will also be able to participate in a pumpkin presale. Those who join the Foundation at the Advocate-level ($250), or who upgrade their membership at www.paacf.org/join will receive free admission to this event. The Candlelight Cocktails reception is also open to the media.
