Dr. Sonia Molina will lead the 1,200-member organization, and direct health and dental policy
LOS ANGELES, CA, October 22, 2011 /California PR News/ -- The Los Angeles Dental Society (LADS) has elected Dr. Sonia Molina, president of Molina Endodontics, to head its 1,200-member organization for 2011-2012. Dr. Molina, the first Latina president in the organization's 76-year-history, will be installed at a formal dinner on Saturday, October 29, beginning at 6 p.m. at Taglyan Cultural Center, which is located at 1201 N. Vine Street, in Hollywood.
The event themed Carnaval Internacional, will feature Brazilian dancers, stilt walkers, and wine and tequila tasting. The Annual Inaugural Gala gathers some of Los Angeles' top dental professionals to recognize incoming officers, and establish dental health and outreach goals.
Dr. Molina is a prestigious member of the dental community, a respected clinical lecturer, and active community leader who devotes her time, energy and resources to many charitable dental enterprises.
A dental specialist with a keen interest in public health and health policy, during her LADS presidency, Molina will propose the development of a support systems for dentists who need assistance with their practice in the event of an emergency, and will work toward a unified voice in Sacramento.
All proceeds from the Gala will benefit the Los Angeles Dental Society Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing dental care to under served and vulnerable populations through programs, grants, scholarships, and training.
