The Race is heating up for the First "Pet Mayor" of Piedmont

Holistic Veterinary Care is pleased to invite the community to the First Vote for "Pet Mayor" of Piedmont contest. Piedmont "Pet Mayor" Election and Winners Announced at Holistic Veterinary Care November 6th at 1 pm PST.

    OAKLAND, CA, October 28, 2011 /California PR News/ -- Holistic Veterinary Care is pleased to invite the community to the First Vote for "Pet Mayor" of Piedmont contest at Holistic Veterinary Care located at 4382 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. We welcome the community to come have fun while helping out a non-profit organization in the East Bay community ... The Pet and Wildlife Fund. The Veterinarians and the staff at the Pet and Wildlife Fund are dedicated to helping pets and wildlife in need in our community.

The nine finalists for the Pet Mayor of Piedmont have been determined. They are Zion, Meloso, Charlie Brown, Jasper, Kai, Blondie, Snowy, Bailey Marie, and Rocky. These nine will now have until November 6th to campaign to see who will be the first Pet Mayor of Piedmont. Photos and additional pet details are available online at www.petandwildlifefund.org.

Finalists this year are sponsored by Holistic Veterinary Care, Body by Melisa, Prudential CA Realty, Image 88, Kinetic Chiropractic, Energy Matters Acupuncture, Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch, Fentons Creamery, Given Gold Jewelry. A special thank you to all of the participating contestants and Piedmont Avenue Merchants.

In honor of being one of Oakland's premier "pet friendly communities," the Pet Mayor annual event helps the community raise funds for the Pet and Wildlife Fund. This special election takes place at Holistic Veterinary Care at 4382 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland and on Sunday, October 30th and Saturday, November 5th at Fentons Creamery from 11 am to 2 pm. The winner will be announced on Sunday, November 6th at 1 pm at Holistic Veterinary Care and all participants will receive recognition for their dedication to the community as Ambassadors of Goodwill.

"So far, more than $4,000 has been raised to help pets and wildlife and we have received more community support than we could have imagined," said Dr. Gary Richter, Medical Director at Holistic Veterinary Care. "We are thrilled to see so many people and many of the Piedmont Avenue merchants coming out to support the Pet Mayor Campaign."

All tax-deductible donations received from the Piedmont Pet Mayor's election will be donated to The Pet and Wildlife Fund which supports the community by providing local pets and wildlife with medical treatment along with teaching proper care and handling of pets to members of the community.
