Tyrone Vaughan Gains Momentum on Country Breakout Chart
Joins Boot Campaign to Help Returning Troops & Plays Phoenix Charity Show
Wins More Followers at Country Radio & the Grassroots in Anticipation of Album Release
AUSTIN, TX, October 11, 2011 /California PR News/ -- Singer, songwriter and guitarist Tyrone Vaughan continues to build a buzz as he lays groundwork for the release of his debut album, Downtime, in January 2012. His single "Downtime" has reached #68 on the Country Breakout Chart in Music Row magazine three weeks after entering it. And reception at country radio remains positive as he visits more stations while views of his video for his first single "Downtimes" just passed 50,000 even without widespread national play and exposure, adding nearly 10,000 views weekly over the last month.
As Vaughan increases his public profile he is also forging charitable alliances to help others. He was recently featured on the home page of the Boot Campaign, a grassroots initiative started by five women who are also fellow Texans known as the Boot Girls. The campaign donates funds from sales of combat boots to charities that help ease the transition back home for active members of the armed services and veterans. He joins such other musical artists as Dolly Parton, Charlie Daniels, George Jones, Ted Nugent, the Oak Ridge Boys and more as well as the Chicago Cubs, Florida Marlins, University of Texas football coach Mack Brown, Kathie Lee Gifford and other notables in endorsing and aiding the charitable effort.
"It's a good cause, and I definitely want to do my part to support our military," says Vaughan, who has a cousin who served in Operation Desert Storm and uncle who is a Navy veteran. 'I'm really impressed with how they've been able to start and maintain the campaign and keep selling boots and give money to help our troops." On October 1 he plays the 11th annual Beauty of a Bonzer benefit bash opening for The Frontmen at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ, hosted by Outback Steakhouse and Budweiser, which benefits Phoenix area charities serving families and children in need.
He also recently visited some radio stations in his home state of Texas to perform for their staffs and as always received warm welcomes. At KASE/KVET in Austin, his hometown, "I could tell they were impressed," he notes. KCYY/Y100 in San Antonio "rolled out the red carpet and they were into every note." At KRYS/K-99 "It was like a party, and they totally got into it from the first note to the last." Meanwhile other stations he has been to continue to post videos of his performances on their websites (see below).
Vaughan's sound reflects a lifetime growing up surrounded by country music and other styles. His impressive guitar talent and sound is inherited from and influenced by his father Jimmie Vaughan and legendary uncle Stevie Ray Vaughan (who gave Tyrone his first guitar). His maternal grandfather was a country singer and bandleader who started getting Vaughan onstage to sing at annual family gatherings when he was a child. After playing and packing clubs as a member of the popular Texas indie band Breedlove, he struck out on his own and developed a high-energy style that reflects the inspiration of such favorites as Charlie Daniels and Hank Williams Jr.
